Obituary for Vivien Anne Jarvis

Vivien Anne Jarvis
JARVIS, Vivien Anne -- Regretfully we announce our mother passed away quickly and without warning July 6, 2013, at her home near Hastings. Wife of the late Stanley Jarvis; mother of Bruce & his wife Robyn of St. Albert, Alberta, Boyd & his wife Katherine of Algonquin Highlands, Geoffrey of Pickering, and Patricia Marchen & her husband Jack of Otonabee; grandmother of Joshua, Brandon, Boyd, Brent & Laura; great grandmother of Emma & Sawyer; sister of Kay McReavy of Minneapolis, USA; and cherished friend of Eileen and Ian Rowsell. Born in 1927, Mom was raised in Minnesota and summered on the Robson homestead in Deleau, Manitoba where she found a passion for farm life while maintaining her love for fashion design, which she studied in Chicago. She met Dad when she traveled to England by herself in 1948 and joined the Women's Land Army. She helped build our home in Pickering before they uprooted and moved to Alnwick Township. She was well-loved by her neighbours, friends and family, and we all miss her. Family and friends may gather at BRETT FUNERAL CHAPEL, 76 Bridge Street North, Hastings, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2013. A celebration of life will follow in the chapel at 3:00 pm. In memory of Vivien, donations may be made to the Parkinson Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.brettfuneralchapels.com
