Dr. Paul Wellington Humphries
Humphries, Dr. Paul Wellington. Passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the age of 75. Son of Learl and Dorothy Humphries (Waters), beloved husband of Ilona Humphries (Heyland), caring father of Jennifer Humphries, Tamara Humphries (Andy Zwolinski), and Corinna (Alain) Regnier, doting grandfather of Lara and Kaitlin Sachko and Ryan Zwolinski, and cherished brother of Maurine Hall (Dr. Gordon Hall) and Darwin (Mary-Lou) Humphries. Earning his medical degree from Queen’s University in 1966, Dr. Humphries worked with the Addiction Research Foundation and was former Senior Medical Consultant with the Ministry of the Solicitor General and Correctional Services. He was proud of his close association with Correctional Services of Canada, the R.C.M.P., and the Ontario Provincial Police. Paul devoted his life to helping people through his medical expertise, negotiation abilities, and with his superior listening and caring skills. His favorite past time was enjoying family and friends, from the comfort of his favorite chair, with his newspaper and the Toronto Maple Leafs on the television. He also loved cars, his dogs, skiing, fishing, canoeing, exercising and martial arts. His love for music led him to learn to play the drums, the violin, the guitar, the trumpet, the clarinet, and the piano. He is remembered for his love for his family, his beautiful smile, and is sadly missed already.
