Condolences

Condolence From: Nadine (your God Daughter)
Condolence: Aunt Sally,

I can't believe you are gone. My heart aches with an emptiness I have never felt before. You were a mom to me.... I have so many amazing memories of us while growing up... Helping at market, visits to hoards station, VERY early morning walks when you were working for Keith with the dairy cattle, laughs and giggles while I played your records, snuggles while we watched movies, watching you do your baking and canning, watching you make cider... My memories will never fade. You and uncle Jim mean the world to me.

saying goodbye to you today was so very hard. I don't really know that I fully did say goodbye... or that I can. You were and are a bright spot in my life and in my heart. Not a day has passed in my life where I haven't thought of you. Now, not a day will go by when I won't wish you were here to go to hoards station, or pick apples, or set up at market, or sit and listen to records ..... you were my aunt, my friend and my God Mother. Now, you are my angel.

I love you so very much. you will always be missed... you will always be in my heart... you will always be in my thoughts.... and I know you will always be with me.

all my love,

your God Daughter
Nadine (or.. aka .. to you and uncle Jim, So Joe / Dean) xoxoxoxox

Condolence: I was saddened by the news of Sally's death. I will always remember her sweet smile and her generosity. Although Sally wasn't around much when Connie, Gwen, Heather, Debi and I were up to mischief, she was very tolerant of our antics when she and Jim would stop in to visit her family. She will be greatly missed!

Condolence: I was so sorry to hear of Sally's passing. I always planned on going to see her when I heard she had a booth at the Campbellford Farmers Market, but my plans didn't work out, unfortunately.
Sally and her family were a great addition to our neighbourhood when they moved in next door to us. I remember that many a good time was had at the Downer place, what with playing outdoor games, trying to learn how to ride our pony, riding our sleighs on the hill between our places, and climbing into the haymow and risking life and limb on the high beams. There was always a big gathering when all of the Downer kids, our friend, Paul McInroy from the farm on the sideroad, and Judy and I got together. When we were pretty well played out, your mom would call us all in for some hot chocolate. It's still the best I've ever tasted. Sally and I were very close when we were teens and shared a lot of what we thought of as hidden secrets with each other. I was pleased when Sally accepted my request to serve at my wedding, and I was invited to her wedding as well. I have pictures of Jim and Sally's wedding and I am so glad to have a memento of my dear friend. You won't be forgotten, Sally, as I shall have you in my book of treasured memories.

Condolence: Sally my dear, dear friend, being part of your family and being welcomed by you and Jim so many years ago was so nice and I enjoyed all the great times we shared as relatives and friends, laughs at the family picnics and gatherings. Looking at pictures of you, Jim, me and Gwen hunting for treasures at flea markets many years ago brought back such fond memories. Being part of your family was great, being your friend for the past 40+ years was amazing and a blessing to have you in my life. You were always the rock when things were tough and the smile when one was needed, but also the one who enjoyed life and made each outing an adventure. Will always remember the good times spent with you, thanks for allowing me the honor of being part of your life and now I say so long my dear Sister-in-law and friend, until we meet again. Donnie V
