The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joanne Franken can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Najib
Condolence: Mrs. Franken was my grade 5 and 6 teacher at Lesson Public School.

I know she is now gone. I'm saddened forever.

But I know - I'll never forget her.

One of the BEST teachers I've ever had in my life.

She was amazing at Lescon.

Memories last forever!

Thank You Mrs. Franken for all the work you did in teaching us.

You made the world a better place.

You did well Mrs. Franken ! You did well.

I still remember you like the late 1980s were just yesterday; realistically 30 years ago.

The fall fairs, book sales, and science fairs were so, so fun. And so were the outdoor trips - Cedar Glen being one.

Thank You , Thank You , Thank You

May you rest in peace.

Condolence: I cannot express my shock and grief. Joanne and I had a 5000 mile diary between Ontario and Yorkshire, we emailed in bursts when something stirred us, politics, family, the increasingly confusing world we live in. Our subjects were wide ranging and the time we spent together in South Carolina delicious memories for myself and Ken. We laughed a lot and I shall miss her wit and charm dreadfully. We had much in common as our backgrounds were both Scottish. I loved her.

Condolence: There are so many good memories of Joanne and our "adventures'" in teaching. Joanne was a superb teacher, and well-loved by her students. She was creative and enthusiastic and a formidable force of energy both for her students and her colleagues.

With deep sympathy to Willie, Trevor and the family.

Condolence: Mom,
There are so many words left unsaid, so many thank yous we'll never get to express, so many hugs and kisses we can never give to you. We'll never hear music coming from the living room piano on Christmas morning, or hear your laugh ringing from room to room. What we have left are the memories of all that made you wonderful. We are so grateful for this past Christmas spent at home with you; watching our children open the gifts you so lovingly wrapped, eating your delicious baking and just being together. How could we have known those would be our last moments with you? There aren't words enough to express just how much we will miss you. May you be at rest with the ones who went before you, and may you watch over us until we meet again. We love you.
